Well hello family.
This week was so full of busy it was down right busy...busy
This week was started off with a lovely P-Day with Brother Hahn^^
And we went to CHINA-town!
We have been planning this trip with him for 2 months now so i was
stinking happy to get it done. We went and looked at a couple of cool
statues and had some good lunch together(burgers). I love that old
geezer^^ Then we had to head home, get dressed and go to a members
house. He promised to teach us how to do family history online! It was
super fun! I now can do it myself! Super proud!
We finally met up with an old guy that met us on the
street and gave us his address. We went to his house and he was super
stoked to meet us. We talked for a bit then he invited us to some lunch.
He remembered past missionaries like Korean-Chinese food so he wanted
to take us there. When we met up with him again he drove us in his
really snazzy car all the way to CHINA-town!
there we ate until we deathed and he fed us more amazing food. It was
super fun and we built some good memorize with him. I feel that when we
start talking about the gospel with him it will be in our favor^^
Also had exchanges this week, I went into the
District Leaders area with his Korean greenie and me and him had a crazy
time trying to visit Less actives and past investigators. We walked all
over the place just to get Less actives to slam the door. Yup, that's
how love as a missionary works. The next morning i gave Elder moon (the
Korean greenie) a Training on Christlike attributes. It was actually my
first one and it went quite well...I think.
We had a fun opportunity with a member to go home
teaching with him. This member surprised me with a phone call, he asked
me to help him with home teaching. This was new to me because this
member and his family have not had the missionaries over to their house
in 2+ years. They are super active, just anytime i want to visit they
don't really like it. So when he called and asked for my help i was a
little taken back, but extremely excited to help! We went him and he
drove us out to the island to visit members. The Entire time he kept
talking about how nice it was to have a "little friend" as he calls it,
to help us get to where we need to get. Then when we visited members he
loved showing off his"Friend". This past week he got a new "Friend". His
first one! He was really happy about and couldn't help but show
everyone his new "Friend". All the members didn't seemed to amazed.
Granted they have had "friends" had. As little and basic as his "friend"
was. To me everything he was super excited about had been built in to
every Korean car. But for him, it was a sign of what he was doing was
good for him. He didn't care about what others had. We visited 3
different houses (all rich people might i add) and he couldn't help but
to show off his new "little friend" the smart phone. The little phone
was littered with pictures of his small family and loving wife. His
Smart phone had lists apon list of ward members in his phone.He could
text any member he wanted and at any time read the scriptures. Then this
mans story flew into my eyes with a blast of inspiration. the young
missionary man who worked hard, married well and sees all the blessings
in his life. the little verse from fiddler on the roof popped into my
head as i looked at this man.
"If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray. And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all."
A
small Korean man taught me the true meaning of wealth on a cold Korean
night. He taught me to count all the blessings that i had in my life and
i am truly gratefull.
