Officially on April 4th was my 2 year mark as a missionary! Whoo stinking fun!
On Monday, as you all know that North Korea fired at South Korea and vise versa.... north Korea does this every year around this time, because the military here does their exercises. Kinda scary at first but yeah they are just rattling swords so that people don't forget that they exist. They do it all the time...
Also on Monday despite all of the scary things, we went with brother Hahn to Suwon and he brought a buddy of his along. We checked out a little castle and that was pretty sweet and then we hiked up to a golden Buddha then hiked the rest of the mountain to look over the city. It WAS SWIFT! We partied hard with old guys on P-DAY! love it!
Tough out the week we have had nothing but straight talking with people for hours on the street. Its been fun times and some sketchy times but all in all i have been walking alot! we have also been trying to find complete in actives, but no luck there. That led to a really random day that me and elder Woltjen got stuck in the middle of the country side in the rain...with out umbrellas, it made for some fun times though trying to knock doors and try to get inside because of the rain. It didnt work to much but we first tried finding some less-actives in the area, then knocked doors. It was fun!
Also on Friday, we got a call from president saying that us and the sisters are no longer aloud to go to the American branches, we are strictly Korean ward missionaries. The other elders Gamble and Munk are now the Military missionaries...i was so torn when i got that call, it was practically transfers in the middle of transfers, no one was moving, we just had to end it all that night. It was a very sad day for this district. The other elders had to give all their investigators to us and we had to do the same. I had made alot of friendships in all those branches and now i will just vanish into the folds of other "elders". kinda felt that all the work i did just *thbbbbb* out the window... I still see them all but we just can't meet with them. super sad day ㅠㅠ
Sunday, was the day of reckoning. we went to the Korean church and had planned to met with all of our investigators that day, and almost every plan fell through. However we managed to meet an old man that loves the missionaries and America. It was good to meet with him, and he took us on a walk up a mountain...in our church clothes, it was fun. We got to see many the cherry blossoms come out and talk with some people. Then we ended the night with visiting the military branch one last time for dinner...It was hard. Luckily i get one last FHE with them tonight^^
That was the best of this week i am super glad that you are all still doing alright without me^^ just know that what ever situation you have been put in is for your own good and for the bettering of yourself, and your families. Take every hard trial head on!
